Ironman Nice training week 7

Swimming got serious this week with my first master’s session. My top tip for the swim, get a coach and work on that technique.

Big thanks to my old rowing friend Scott who’s coaching me at the Kenilworth Masters sessions. This felt like the first serious week, with masters drills and extra time in the water.

Scott’s helping me break down the distance into small chunks and realise a time that’s achievable. At the moment I think I may be able to manage between 1:50 and 2 minutes for the hundred for a sustained period. We’ll see how this pans out when I’m swim fit.

About this blog

Welcome to the personal blog of Robert A J Ford, a professional interface developer based in the UK.

I started this blog in 2007 to record my cycling training leading up to the Etape. I've never been one for diaries but this format works well with my job and lifestyle so I expanded it to record details of other training and events.

As the blog grew it became a space where friends and family could follow what I am up to. Their feedback has inspired me to keep writing. I hope you find something of interest and please feel free to leave comments.
