Training round up

Illness and weather; I feel the world’s conspiring to destroy my training this summer. I’ve tried getting out several times but the legs still feel hollow.

I’ve begun to panic slighly about the Etape as its not far away. To combat this I’ve got realistic and planned my reamining time in my diary. Saying that there’s deffinately going to be a large element of winging it this year.

It looks like Flat out in the Fens shall be my first century ride so I’ll see how I feek after that.

Don’t panic! Don’t panic!

I appreciate any and all serious feedback, especially if you feel strongly about something I have written about.

L'Etape du Tour 2009

Mont Ventoux
Start from Montélimar (Drôme) to the Mont Ventoux summit, 172 km and 4 climbs (côte de Citelle, col d'Ey, col de Fontaube, col de Notre-Dame des Abeilles).

The Bike

Trek Madone 5.0
Trek Madone 5.0 (2007)
I love this bike, some would say too much with the amount of time I spend maintaining it! But if I'm going to be going 50mph down a mountain I want to know its in good shape.

About this blog

Welcome to the personal blog of Robert A J Ford, a professional interface developer based in the UK.

I started this blog in 2007 to record my cycling training leading up to the Etape. I've never been one for diaries but this format works well with my job and lifestyle so I expanded it to record details of other training and events.

As the blog grew it became a space where friends and family could follow what I am up to. Their feedback has inspired me to keep writing. I hope you find something of interest and please feel free to leave comments.
